Welcome to my blog! I'm glad you are here. :)
The amount of times I have rewritten this section since starting this blog 3 years ago is crazy. When I started this blog, I was a "student, new to Des Moines, crafter, girlfriend..." etc. Then, I was a "fiance, teacher, fitness instructor, downtown dweller." Now, I'm a "wife, teacher, new homeowner, interior decorator." I think we can all guess what my future update will be, but let's not rush that.
I have used this platform on and off for three years to provide myself a creative outlet and share the things I love with like-minded people. I read a variety of blogs every day, from DIY blogs, to teacher blogs, to lifestyle blogs. I hope this blog to be a combination, simply to share my ventures and interests with others.
The name Start Acting My Age came from a lyric from one of my favorite songs, "The Boy Who Blocked His Own Shot" by Brand New. You can listen to the song here. "Start Acting My Age" is also a testament to embracing your inner child and not taking life too seriously.
